Which particle represents the size of the sodium ion compared to the sodium atom? Anyone else hate science as much as I do?

The more electrons something has, the bigger it will be because of more energy levels and the fact that additional electrons bring more negative charges, which repels the electrons out further into space. If the sodium ion is losing electrons (because it is shown as positive) then it will be smaller than the normal atom because it will have less electrons, and thus, less repelling forces pushing the radium of the sodium farther out. So the smallest particle is the size of the sodium ion.
