Answer: 9

Explanation:

The absolute value of any number is always the positive version of that number. If the number is already positive then that's your answer. The symbol can be shown like this: |x| x= any number. If the number you are finding the absolute answer of is negative you can write the symbol like this: |-x| . But... there is a twist! If you were to find the absolute like this: -|-x| the answer would be negative. Why? Because there is a negative sign in front of |-x| which changes the rules. All you need to do is find |-x| and then put the negative sign in front of that answer.

The absolute value of 9 is 9. (9 is 9 places from 0.) if it it was -9 then it would've been 9.
