(D) The shark applies a non-contact force on the prey.

Unlike humans who have 5 senses, sharks actually have 7. So they could be using any of there senses other than touch to detect there prey. (The senses they could be using are sight, smell, hearing, taste, electroreception, and/or there lateral line.)

Answer:

D. The shark applies a non-contact force on the prey.

Reasoning:

Sharks can hear and smell from a far distance. Making it easier to find their prey without touching it.
