the error happened in line 2 :

(2x - 3)(6x + 2)

= 2x6x + 2×2x - 3×6x - 3×2 (instead of +3×2)

the error was using the wrong sign for the term 3×2. it was created by -3 multiplied by +2 = -3×2.
