Why were many German Jews and Jews in other parts of Europe unable to flee and immigrate to the United States when the Nazis took power?

Answer:

The Nazis made it very difficult to immigrate for anyone under their rules. Not just the Jews. Now as to why it was nearly impossible to immigrate to America. There are many reasons, but of them being the Submarines that guarded the ocean connecting to America. Most American transport ships could only reach Great Britian and Africa cutting them off from the rest of Europe.
