Participating in the science fair
should be an optional choice for
students. First of all, not every child
has a love for science. When
assigned the science fair project,
often times kids are left feeling overwhelmed and
confused about what topic to pick and hou much
work goes into the projects. Some children excel
more in the arts and would rather spend their free
time expressing themselves through music, drama,
or artistic work, rather than investigate science
content. Second of all, this type of project brings
a lot of arguments to the household. Because the
project is so much work, parents often have to get
involved, some even taking over the project! If a
child is really interested in science and a
particular topic, he/she should just be able to
conduct experiments on his/her own time!
