How do I find the slope given two points on a line?

you find the slope by using this equation = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1.

For example, if you had two points, (2,4) and (3,6)

2 will be x1 because it's your first x. 3 will be x2 because it's your second x.

So with that pattern, 4 will be y1 and 6 will be your y2.

So the equation will be 6-4 / 3-2. That will equal 2/1 so the slope is 2.

start at the top point and count down to the line that the other point is on (ex down 4) and then count horizontally to the next point (ex 3) then you get the slope, be careful with negatives and positives
