As per Columbo's law force is inversely proportional to square of distance between two charges.


(F)/(F_(new)) =(r_(new)^(2) )/(r^(2) )


(F)/(F_(new)) =((2r)^(2) )/(r^(2) ) \\


F = 4 F_(new)

therefore the new force if 1/4 times the old one
