If 72 = 12x, what does x equal?

So, x is our unknown variable. An so you have to ask yourself, what times 12= 72? The answer would be 6, because 12x6=72

The proper way to do it, would be to divide 12/12 so you isolate the variable, and what you do to one side, you do to the other, so divide 72 by 12 and you get 6! Hope this helps!
