A local gym, Gold's Gym, currently has 1,234 members. The membership enrollment is decreasing at a rate of 8% a year. Fit for life, however, is increasing at 1.8% a year. Since they are a new gym, they only have 335

members.

a. Write two equations to model the membership enrollment of each gym. Let Eg represents the Gold's Gym and t represents years. Let Ef represents Fit for Life's membership enrollment and t represents years.

b. Use your equations to predict the number of years when the two gyms will have the same number of members. About how many people will be enrolled within each gym at that time?
