A liquid sample of water (density = 0.9971 g/mL) has a volume of 10.00 mL. The water is allowed to freeze to become ice (density = 0.934 g/mL). What will be the volume of the

ice cube?

The volume is 10.676 mL

D=m/v is the formula used

Given for liquid water was the density and volume. Substituting those values into the formula gives m=9.971

For ice we have a different density, which was given, and because mass doesn’t change when water is frozen you can you use the mass of the water and substitute.

0.934= 9.971/v
The v, the answer is 10.676 mL
