Hi, I'm supposed to write a script / essay about the protest song called "What's Going On?" by Marvin Gaye. I don't even know where to start. Tips please?

You could start with mentioning that this song explores the themes of racism, drug abuse, poverty, and the Vietnam war.

This song was first released in May of 1971 and is told from the point of view from a Vietnam veteran coming home to see injustice, suffering, and hatred.

You could mention that this song is still quite powerful as of this year with all of the police brutality and racial injustice still going around to this day.

50 years ago this song was made and is still relevant in today’s world, quite sad
