In equation form:

(1)/(4) / 3

When dividing, flip the divisor so it is the reciprocal of the original divisor

Then multiply both the dividend and the flipped value

(1)/(4) / 3 = (1)/(4) * (1)/(3)


= (1 * 1)/(4 * 3) \\\\= (1)/(12)
