Rewriting a story in the first-person point of view would change the perspective and theme of a story because the narrator's voice would be more direct and personal. The reader would be more connected to the protagonist and his/her thoughts, feelings, and motivations would be made clearer. This would also lead to a deeper level of understanding of the themes and could potentially strengthen the story's overall message.

When something is written in the first-person POV, it helps us understand the character more. If we visualize what’s happening it’s give us our own insights on the situation.
