Weaknesses of the Articles Of Confederation:

- there was no executive branch
- there was no national court system
- government had no power to tax or raise national funds
- government could not regulate trade or currency
- government had no power to prohibit states from conducting foreign affairs
- major laws required approval of 9 of the 13 states to pass
- only 1 state had to raise an objection to block changes to the Articles
