Rephrasing a question I had because people keep misunderstanding it

write the equation 8-2x= 3(y+1)^2 in x-h=a(y-k)^2 form

Explanation:


(8 - 2x) = 3(y + 1) {}^(2)

If we factor out -2


- 2( - 4 + x) = 3(y + 1) {}^(2)


(x - 4) = - 1.5(y + 1) {}^(2)

Disclaimer: this is a weird question because they would usually have you isolate the quadratic(the term being squared) but this is the answer is you're form you asked about

The vertex of this parabola is (4,-1)
