Why is Curley so mean to Lennie and George upon first meeting them? What does he have against them?

Answer: Curley is jealous of those who are bigger than him. He is a very aggressive and violent he is the Boss's son and takes advantage of the power that he has over the other men on the ranch to treat them cruelly and pick fights.
