Inductive reasoning is essentially making generalizations based on observations. In this case inductive reasoning is used because it must be true that it has rained on their birthday in the past, repeatedly. Therefore this person came to the conclusion that since it has rained on their birthdays in the past, it must rain on their birthdays to come.
