Find volume of 1 sphere:

V = 4/3πr³ = 4/3π(6)³ = 288π

Volume occupied by 4 spheres = 4(288π) = 1152π

Find volume of cylinder:

V = πr²h

h = 4(12) = 48 (4 spheres stacked inside the cylinder)

V = π(6)²(48) = 1728π

Empty space = (Volume-cylinder) - (Volume-4 spheres) = 1728π - 1152π = 576π
