Jayden is handing out chocolate candies and bubble gum for Halloween. He wants to have a total of 8 pounds of candy, but he doesn't want to spend more than $19.00 total on the candy. If chocolate candies cost $1.50 per pound, and bubble gum cost $2.90 per pound, how many pounds of each type of candy should he buy?

He should buy (blank) pounds of chocolate candies and (blank) pounds of bubble gum.

Answer:

He should buy 4 pounds of chocolate candies and 4 pounds of bubble gum.

Explanation:

1.50x4 (4 pounds) equals = $6

2.90x4 (4 pounds) equals = $11.6

$11.6 + $6 = $17.6

Hope this helps! <3 (so sorry if this is wrong :C)
