The descendents of Abraham (the Hebrew people) ended up as slaves in Egypt because they had been in Egypt for many generations, and that the Pharaoh had feared the presence of them from how numerous they became. The Pharaoh feared that they would turn against the Egyptians, thus he had forced the Hebrew people to become slaves.
