use the equation y2-y1/x2-x1

(2,-1)
x1 y1
(4,7)
x2 y2

7-(-1)/4-2= 8/2=4

then use the formula (y-y1)=m(x-x1) to find the y intercept

(y-7)=4(x-4)
y-7=4x-16
+7 +7
y=4x-9
