What is one thing that is important for an audience to understand about the characters in "A Raisin in the Sun"?

1. The characters in it have faced many hardships and money is a big deal in their lives.
2. Living as African-Americans during the 1950’s is very difficult and they faced many hardships that many of us, if not black, will never understand.
