The Phoenicians were a group of people that lived by the coast side of current day Syria, Lebanon, and Israel (then called Levant). They were master traders that had trading posts, harbors, and other types of settlements. They also were great at building ships, and knew how to use the North Star to navigate the oceans when sailing during the night.
