What was the American Revolutionary about? Why was the fight for independence hypocritical in the eyes of black people?

The american revolution was important to set freedom for america. It was partly about not taking britains insanely high tax, and also partly about freedom. it was hypocritical for black people in the 1700s because back then they were slaves with little to no freedom.
