Answer: The Tea Act of May 10, 1773

Explanation: The event was the Boston Tea Party. It was an act to help the British East India Company which was in financial trouble. It was also done to get the American colonies to purchase tea on which the Townshend duties were paid and that is what upset American colonist and caused the event.
