How could the nile both help and harm the ancient Egyptians ?

Answer:

The Nile both helped and harmed Egyptians with the same function. Flooding. When the Nile flooded, new silt (soil) was deposited along the banks, which helped with crops. The flooding also harmed them, though, because they were all forced to move, land and homes were lost, and there was a possibility of fatality.
