1. Peter and John went shopping and spent money in the ratio 2 : 3 .

(a) If Peter spent 500 dollars, how much did John spend?
(b) If John spent 600 dollars, how much did they spend altogether?
(c) If both boys spent 2000 dollars altogether, how much did they spend?
(d) If John spent 100 dollars more than Peter, how much did both boys spend?

Answer:

a) John spent 750$ so the ratio is 500:750 =2:3

b) John spent 900$ so the ratio is 600:900= 2:3

c) peter spent 800$ and John spent 1200$ so the ratio is 2:3

d) both spent 500$ and the ratio is 200:300 =2:3
