One of the most important contributions of the Sumerians was pictograph and writing system. The pictograph was developed 3200B.C. and was used to keep records by using simple pictures on soft clay tablets. Writing was developed in 300 B.C. called cuneiform and this was used to record messages, historical events and communication.
