Louis Philippe I was King of the French from 1830 to 1848. Although initially popular, his popularity decreased as time went by, and he was eventually forced to abdicate after the outbreak of the French Revolution of 1848. The revolt against Louis Philippe also inspired many revolts across Europe. The main reason for this was the fact that people all over the continent wanted to have more of a say in the running of their country and government.
