Why Lincoln and Davis were willing to fight in the civil war because one 1 Lincoln did't want to fail as the president of the united state's Davis was anti-slavery and did't want slavery to continue which is another reason why Lincoln wanted to fight because he wanted slavery to abolish cause he felt slavery wasn't right when people would kidnap a foreigner from Africa who did nothing to deserve the king of treatment to be sold and owned and be consider "property" Hope this helps:) and please mark as best please:)
