The name of the group that consists only of modern humans and their direct ancestors is known as Hominidae. It is also called by the name of Hominids or great apes. Originally the term Hominidae referred to only the humans and their closest relatives. There are still people that continue to use this term in its restricted sense, rather than the modern sense.
