1/4 of the clips are pink, so 3/4 are either blue or yellow. 1/3 of the remaining 3/4 are blue so 2/3 of the remaining 3/4 are yellow. 2/3 of 3/4 is

2/3 × 3/4 = 6/12 = 1/2

So 1/2 of the clips are yellow
