In early America, women and children who had to work were readily employed by factories because they were paid less than men. This was just one of the reasons for selecting women and children for working in factories during that time. Otther reasons were that women and children were better at precision and skilled works rather than men. they could be mistreated and made to work for long hours without being paid a lot of money.
