Once the population of a certain environment increases, we have to start considering different environmental factors which can greatly influence the population of a certain area. Predation, for example, becomes less important.

Natural disasters, weather and climate become much more important. Of these, natural disasters possibly have the largest impact if we're talking about the destructive potential.
