Despite Sparta's accomplishments, the state did not leave an artistic legacy as Athens did. How does this reflect the philosophy of Spartan society?

Sparta was a war like society. From age six you trained to become a solider. You would have been it the military for life. Sparta did not focus at all on arts because they believed they were not necessary and that they were foolish. Since the beginning days of Sparta they had always focused their time and resources into their military mainly because they were afraid of the Helots(slaves) uprising.
