Two pizzas were cut into sixths. Ashraf, Drew, and Katie shared the pizzas equally. How many sixths did each friend get?

We can form an equation by taking the important numbers.
There are two pizzas that are cut into six pieces. There are three people. They are all sharing all of the pizza.
2 pizzas × 6 slices each = 12 slices
12 slices ÷ 3 people = 4 slices per person.
Ashdraf, Drew, and Katie will each get 4 slices of pizza from the 12 slices of pizza.

each person gets 4 pieces because
6x2=12
and
12/3=4
