Do you think ancient egypt was vulnerable to foreign invaders

No I don't think so. They were protected in the east and west by the Nubian Desert and the Western Desert. Far out north, they were protected by the sea from the Mediterranean Sea which not only protected them but also helped increase their trade with other regions. So no it was not unprotected.
