Both the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement are part of the international humanitarian movement.

The role of Red Cross or Red Crescent National Society is to provide first-line disaster response services. This means to give assistance for victims of natural disasters and other emergencies. By doing this they help in improving and maintaining public health.

The red cross helps to keep the community health maintained, because when someones house burns down, they turn to drugs or drinking. But with the red cross they give them reasons to not give up, and provide you with what you need to get back onto your feet.
