How have farmers between the Tigris and Euphrates watered their crops

They used canals, and dams. This is because at first, they had a problem. Everytime it would rain, it caused a flood, and because of the fertile land, it rained alot. So the people had to fix it, and they did it by inventing a series of calans and dams that helped them cointrol how much water flowed in and out of the land.
