What was true about the Indian Appropriations Act was that it slowly but surely removed Native Americans from their and placed them on reservations to accommodate the growing number of white settlers who were now expanding westward. Not only did the Native Americans lose their land, but they endured many hardships when they were placed in the reservations. Also those who resisted were killed in wars with the U.S. government. More than that, they were not recognized as a nation as more of these acts were put into effect.
