True. Hepatitis is an inflammatory condition of the liver that is either caused by a viral infection or secondary results of medication, drugs, toxins, and alcohol. If not treated immediately, it might result to excessive scarring in the liver. Excessive damage in the liver could hamper many bodily functions like, bile production needed for digestion, filtration of toxins, metabolism of nutrients, among others. It is known to affect 4.4 million Americans and some of them are unaware that they have the disease.
