Y * (b/x) = the cost of y apples
Because by calculating b/x you get the price of 1 apple.

If 'x' apples cost 'b' cents, then each apple costs (b/x) cents.
'Y' apples cost 'y' times the cost of each one . . . . . (y) times (b/x) or
yb/x cents
.
