(-x+3) - (x-5) = (-x+3) -x - (-5)\\\\= -x + 3 -x + 5 = -x -x + 3 + 5\\\\=\boxed{\bf{-2x + 8 = 8 -2x}}

The final answer is -2x + 8.

(-x+3)-(x-5)

Distribute the negative sign inside (x-5)

(-x+3)-x+5

Remove the other parenthesis

-x+3-x+5

Add like terms

-2x + 8
