This includes the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, etc. The founding fathers were really influenced by Enlightenment thinkers, especially John Locke.

In America, the main influence of the enlightenment was expressed to practical scientific experimentation. Before, American believes that by the use science experiments, they were able to obtain answers from their questions. It was Benjamin Franklin who introduces science to the American people. American embraced this kind of experimentation and considered as their way of expressing enlightenment. However, when it comes to their religious belief, they would believe on biblical explanations than scientific experiments. American knowledge in science, agriculture and education are all result of experimentation.
