Example: Wow, you are right again!
As you can see it's not preceded by preposition, nor it relates to another word in the sentence.
It doesn't have to be followed by exclamation point (but often is). "Wow" in this case doesn't have exclamation point, it could but it's up to the person who wrote the sentence.
