The Normans had a variety of weapons that they used to defeat their enemies. Many carried the usual weapons of the medieval ages such as swords, shield, mace and spear. They also wore chain armor and helmets to protect them in close quarter combat. Apart from that, they also utilized the bow and arrow on their enemies. They were also skilled horsemen and their utilization of cavalry and infantry made them formidable in battle. The best example were the Normans used all these weapons was in the Battle of Hastings where William the Conqueror defeated Harold to become the king of England.
