Multiply 3x +y =23 by -4
x+4y=4
-12x+(-4y)=-92
Add together
-11x = -88
x = 8
Plug x in to find y.
8 + 4y = 4
Subtract 8 from each sides
4y = -4
Divide by 4
y = -1
So the answer is x =8, y= -1
I hope that helps!
