The scarce living conditions were characteristic both of Athens and Sparta. It also depended on social status. In Sparta, where the highest ideal was the education of warriors, the living quarters were scarce, so for example, boys who were trained for warriors slept in dormitories. In Athens, they were characteristic simple homes. Richer residents had some better conditions, such as furniture, such as stools and more comfortable beds.

The answer is c.
