The relationship between the clownfish and the sea anemone can be described as mutualism. Mutualism is a type of relationship in the environment in which two different species benefit from the individual activity of the other.

The sea anemone is an ideal home for a clownfish because the sea anemone’s poisonous tentacles prevent predators from attacking. In the same way that the clownfish can help the sea anemone lure fishes inside the anemone to feed on. It also eats away dead tentacles of the sea anemone keeping it clean and the area around it clear.
